Building a digital platform for sustainability assessment of wineries

Positive Impact Concept offers tailored services to help wineries achieve sustainability and positive impact. Based on its data analysis methodology and circular economy indicators, they have created a tool for evaluating and improving circularity in winery operations.

Challenge

Partnering with Deployflow to develop and MVP (Minimum Viable Product) will enable wineries to assess their sustainability, receive a sustainability score, and gain actionable recommendations for improvement.

Positive Impact Concept aimed to transform its existing framework from an Excel sheet into a fast, modern, and efficient platform. They also needed to build and test the entire user journey, from sign-up and login to navigating the dashboard and interpreting each framework, ensuring users clearly understand the value each framework provides.

Deployflow’s collaboration with Positive Impact Concept unfolded into a project that required broad expertise, a clear understanding of a complex and highly specialised domain, and a deep knowledge of the latest technologies including front-end React, back-end Node, and AWS, the cloud platform.

Solution

The first step was a discovery phase with Positive Impact Concept, during which Deployflow thoroughly reviewed the sustainability assessment to understand the product's objectives and target audience. Based on this understanding, Deployflow designed the entire solution, aligning it with Positive Impact Concept's specific requirements. This included guiding Positive Impact Concept in defining the commercial aspects of the platform and determining what kind of product they wanted to develop. Deployflow also incorporated the entire user journey into the solution, detailing the features and functionalities users would need to navigate the platform.



The second step focused on the UI and UX design, emphasising simplicity and usability. Deployflow implemented advanced technological solutions to create an easy-to-use platform that presents information clearly. The result was a highly relevant product that effectively addresses user needs while providing an engaging experience.

The next stage was developing the full MVP. Deployflow built a platform featuring an intuitive questionnaire that wineries can complete to receive a sustainability report. The platform performs complex calculations based on the submitted data and generates an easy-to-understand report. Additionally, it provides tailored recommendations to help wineries enhance their sustainability practices.

The final stage involved hosting Positive Impact Concept's product on a cloud platform.
