Vodafone launch SEPA compliant system across nine markets, transferring €1.5bn a month

Due to its operations across Euro Zone countries, Vodafone needed to implement a SEPA-compliant payment system. An external development partner was building the platform, and Deployflow was tasked with overseeing the delivery of the solution and ensuring a smooth transition from the project phase to business-as-usual, meeting the demands of multiple markets.

Challenge

The solution involved numerous internal and external dependencies. Our team coordinated with local markets to secure their support and managed various internal and external resources responsible for different components of the solution. Additionally, negotiations with local banks in specific regions were required to finalise agreements.

Goal

To facilitate the collection of payments and payment of invoices in a SEPA-compliant manner across all regional Vodafone units within the Euro Zone, leveraging a centrally provided service.

Solution

We appointed a senior Solution Owner to oversee the delivery of the entire platform. A Target Operating Model was implemented to support a swift and agile execution of requirements.

Additionally, the senior Solution Owner assumed responsibility for the external delivery team to address and rectify a high volume of failures and enhance the platform's delivery.
